New reading on the agenda

I love to read but I love even more to own books, and I am always starting more then one. Somehow I never find myself in the position to have read all the ones I have on the bookshelf, and never with no mood to buy others.
This book its the Christmas present and only now I found the time to pick it up. I only hope I don't leave it and start another, because I have started at this moment at least three.

New shoes ? you don't need

How many of you didn't hear this more then once. This exact question whenever you were even glancing to the window of a shoe shop.
This fact makes me wonder how a normal girl can survive in this world. How she can face the challenge, of dressing, going out, traveling, maintaining a comfortable life style with a normal paycheck. Lets face it, we are not like in the movies, the big part of us don't have glamorous jobs, high-paid but we would all want the glamorous life. Why we shouldn't have access to all the beautiful stuffs, the must have shoes, or the newest Hermes bag?
I was reading today that to dress the girls from the Sex and the City they spent an impressing sum of 7 millions. Its outrages, and dont get me wrong, I love the girls, I loved the series and the movie, and I am among the number one fans. But how we can compete with that? How we can not go crazy ?
The world of today is feeding us with the images of the glamorous dresses, shoes and purses, and we have to stay cool and don't desire any of that ?
The answer is simple and this is the answer to the question of our boyfriends, husband, or life partners: "WHAT ? You want a new pair of shoes, but you have so many already.... you don't need."
YES we need, we have to have them, even if they are a pale imitations of those Jimmy Choo or Louboutin. I don't know from where this fascination and the must have of shoes comes from. This I think not even Freud can't answer.
So we need to shop and dress smart, find that perfect combination, between looking cheap and buying cheap. But How and Where.
These questions I will try to answer as I go along and discover tips that might help some of you I hope

AUTOBIOGRAFIA LUI NICOLAE CEAUSESCU (The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu)

This is a documentary that I would personally like to see. For most of you it might not be so appealing, but nerveless there will always be the fascination of his legend, the curiosity to see the one who has been the one called "The evil genius of the Carpathians".
The film explores the image of the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu using unknown official footage from the Romanian National Television and National Film Archives.

Recommended reading - The Magus, John Fowels

Reading it in the past his novel The French Lieutenant's Woman, I certainly didn't expect this.
The problem with this book is that I couldn't seem to stop picking it up again and again.
I don't know if I fully understood the book, just as Urfe doesn't fully understand the experiment. But I knew I wouldn't stop, that I was free to stop, but that, rather than feeling obliged to finish or understand, I exercised my freedom to explore and discover.
The book finishes abruptly leaving you craving for more and still wondering, still connected to that unbelievable world.
"Cras amet qui numquam amavit quique amavit cras amet." ("Let him love tomorrow who has never loved, and let him who has loved love tomorrow.") are the final words of the book.
It seems fairly clear that Fowles is indicating, through the quote, his preferred resolution to the story as it pertains to Nicholas and Alison. Although ultimately, as Fowles has noted, it is up to the reader to come up with his or her own interpretation.

Shutter Island

Last weekend I saw the movie Shutter Island. Reading from the IMDB synopsis I wouldn't have expected this movie would be like this at all.

I don't know about you but I will tag it under the horror category, because all along the movie I felt like my soul will jump out off the chest and the tension was constant and never left me.

I certainly liked this movie for the performance of Leonardo De Caprio, he is no more "Titanic little boy" and
for this new approach in his career of Martin Scorsese. Congratulations guys for a well done job.

Go see it but get warn is not fully recommended for weak hurts.
